Praise Team Leader

Circleville Community United Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic worship leader for our contemporary worship service.  This person would prepare our Praise Team for worship and lead us through the service.  If interested, please contact Pastor Tad Grover at 740-474-4796 or pastor@circlevillecommunitychurch.com

 

Qualifications:

The dynamic person who fills this position must have a strong faith in God, a personal and observable relationship with Jesus Christ, a high level of energy, a love for and commitment to ministering in worship, and a strong knowledge of and gift of music.  This person will need to have good music skills, including the ability to read music, organization and planning skills, leadership skills, technology skills, and enjoy working as a member and leader of a team.   Experience in this type of ministry, including leading in worship as well as knowledge of music, is required.  The qualified applicant must also pass a BCI background check.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the congregation in singing and providing other directions to the congregation during the contemporary worship service.
  • Conducting weekly rehearsals of the praise team.
  • Developing the order of worship for the Sunday service, including choosing songs for the service.
  • Creating MediaShout material for use during the service, including song lyrics and other visuals.
  • Meeting weekly with the Pastor to discuss the weekly services and any other contemporary worship issues.
  • Meeting with other staff and/or volunteer leaders as needed, including sound and video techs and others involved in the contemporary service.
  • Updating song lists and video resources for use during the service.

Reporting:

This position reports directly to the Pastor.

 

Compensation:

This position pays $20-25 per hour, based on experience.

 

Hours:

This is an up-to-12 hour/week position.

 

Other:

Benefits, schedules, and other elements of this position will be developed by the Staff/Parish Relations Committee, in consultation with the Pastor.  Other responsibilities may be developed by the SPRC and/or Pastor.
